I came across a strat in a pawn shop with serial N9 409197. It appears this guitar is from 1999. It did have a stamp on the neckplate Corona CA. I was wondering if there is a site that would list this serial number with the manuf specs? I know some of the sites have this info for new guitars they sell. I wanted to see what the specs were to see if the person did any changes to it, if it is really an american made strat, as well as any other info about it. Looking to add a strat but I know there are alot of fakes out there  ...any help would be appreciated.

The serial denotes a 98/99. Aside from that theres not much more that can be told from the serial alone. Does it have anything wildly out of the ordinary on it? I have a inkling that its a american standard of some description but it could be any variant that you would need to check against the 99 fender frontline magazine. Unless of course you can post a picture of it.

Thanks, I didnt think of taking a pic. I found this item in a pawn shop for $600 bucks, they also had a '08 PRS Starla for $1200. The strat was in great shape, no dings. i will get a pic on here

$600 for a 2ndhand american standard sounds a little high to me. Bear in mind that im not a us citizen and dont know the used retail market over there. Im simply converting it to uk prices that would be the same as dollar amount, roughly.
