Don't waste money on an SRV sig Strat!!

I was poking around on the Wildwood site and I came across these: http://www.wildwoodguitars.com/electric ... e05983.php

In my pursuit of a more realistic SRV type Strat (his was a 'transition' Strat, basically a 50's body with a big fat 60's rosewood neck on it) I was thinking of taking a 57 reissue body and adding a 62 reissue neck but that would cost over 3 grand and for that you can just go to the Custom Shop.. So I thought that I was out of luck. But it looks like these people did exactly that but for the price of a regular reissue!! Awesome!

I know it seems like a lot of work for a small detail but for the truly SRV faithful this is the closest you can get to #1 without spending a fortune. Just thought I'd share.

Actually , his guitar had a stock radius neck.It had been refretted with jumbo frets so many times it was practically a flat radius.Thats where they got the idea for the SRV Artist series strat. The pickups on his were 59s while the body and neck were from like 63.I think the neck shape was a D profile neck , but dont quote me on that.

The initials in the guitar (or neck, or wherever) were LF, so SRV assumed they stood for Leo Fender at first. He did more research on it and it's not Leo Fender who worked on the guitar, but someone who had the same initials who's name I can't remember. I read it in a Guitar Player interview with SRV.
