Anyone know where to get one of these? I found a couple of websites, but they are extremely expensive ($250).

It's the cross-stitched one that used to belong to Jimi Hendrix.

Thanks.

A couple similar (not identical) on this page for 35.00 Euros / $44.00.

Though they actually call them their "Hendrix" models.

Let Google do your searching...

Cheers - C

EDIT - silly dope, I left out the link. Here it is:

The one David Gilmour uses is the one that Jimi Hendrix used.

David's wife bought it at an auction in London and gave it David as a present.

So it should be called a "Hendrix" model :P

Are those repros still around? I was given to understand not.

Different strokes I guess. For me the strap lends the guitar nothing.

I bought a strap made by the Franklin Strap Company in their 'chrome series', black with white stitching. which really sets off that Gimour nicely.

Have look at their website. They're pricey, but not $250.

Doc

And in over 30 years since then the strap has faded to a brownish color. This is mentioned on the site of the place that makes the $250 copy.

Claro!! Apparently the marketplace has changed the game plan. Last time I visited that site there were to be no more, if my memory serves me.

I wouldn't take issue with that observation, however, as I re-read my note I guess my syntax was a bit clouded. I should have emphasized THAT strap. David uses his for obvious sentimental reasons...a nod of respect to an icon of creative energy. Other than that, for me, the strap does little for the look. I feel my choice was preferable. Appearance does have some play in a performer's presence, moreso in my day, than in the present.

We didn't do our music in jeans and T-shirts.

Unfortunately......

Different strokes.
