I have read on the web that the Clapton Strat is available in a Thin Skin Nitro finish (I think only from the Custom Shop).

But, there is no mention of it on the website. However, you can't trust a lot of things on this site because there are many colors, etc. not listed that I know are available (Black/Maple American Vintage 70's Strat, for example).

So, has anyone out there ever come across one of these?

CS will build a 'Clapton' to your order except for the Ferrari finish on his
current stage guitar. Some design specifications may obviate the use of his signature on the headstock rear.

They're a major Fender 'vender' and order some pretty interesting variations. They practically cornered the market on the Gilmour release.

I like this guitar. I have an '89 in that finish which I prefer to the black, which I also once owned. What the guitar pictured has, and I really like, is that fabulous deep '57 offset waist which the early vintage models apparently do not share. More over...according to the specs.....this guitar has NO TBX....a matter of some great controversey around these parts in the past twelve months. That little variation is proported to be how the stage guitar is configured. We've all been given to understand that the standard tone control was NOT available.

Hence, might I suggest that you snap it up fast before I decide that my birthday is coming early again this year :P :!:

Good luck.
