OK, All-

I'm looking for my next strat; I have three so far and am looking for my fourth.

I have two different sunbursts now and am looking for solid color.

So, what's your favorite?

Red (Mark Knopfler)
Black (Clapton)
or
Alpine White (Hendrix Woodstock)

I've always preferred maple necks - if that is any influence.

So, what should I look at?

I like the Shoreline Gold (?) which I think the 50s Player Strat comes in. Looks really good.

Black looks good with a maple neck but I find it always shows up finger prints too much.

They're all good, but I'd probably go for the white. My second choice would be the red.

Hendrix did not play an Alpine White Strat at Woodstock. It was Olympic White. Olympic White and Alpine White are not the same color.

Hi Shane:

Surf Green is moving closer to the top of my "to get" list.

Does that help?

Cheers - C

If I were going to buy another strat it would be the USA limited edition 57 thinskin, white w/ maple neck. Right now musicians friend has them for $1440.00. Simply perfect.

Do they still make that "Hendrix style" 60's strat? That'd be sweet with the reversed bridge pick up and headstock.

I think so at least. :D

I own a Black, an Arctic White, an Olympic White and a Surf Green Strat, and when it was time to buy my first American Standard... I went with another Olympic White with maple fretboard. I think I'm addicted.

Oh, and Alpine White is a Gibson color. That's the color of my vastly outnumbered by Fenders Les Paul Studio. :)

Fender does still make the reversed guitar. I think it's called a 68 Reverse Headstock. It used to be made in the States but it's now made in Mexico I believe.
