I reckon that looks pretty cool. Nice colour and the "relicing" isn't over the top.

I like it. You may want to follow CWPainters advice and use a little woodstain on the worn to the wood body areas. Also you may find the american vintage trem doesnt fit properly. Wilkinson make a conversion trem that fits squire sizes.

This ones in the uk but they do sell worldwide. I use one on one of my guitars their equaly as good as fender vintage trems.

That is nice! That is what I want to do with my Squier. I have it almost sanded down. Couple of questions. I am going to use a nitro paint from the guitar reranch, do I need to relic first and then clearcoat? Or clearcoat then relic? Also, How did you do the relicing to make it look authentic? I may take mine a step further then yours. Thank you!

on the reranch forums the guys who relic suggest completely finishing it, and polishing to a high shine before doing your reliccing.

It is not my thing. However, I love your color choice, and I think you did a great job. Well done.

cool thanks for the comments. the color its self doesnt have a name but its a metallic forest green with a dark blue pearl for a slight flip flop effect witch i tried to show in the pics. as for my process i took the body all the way down to the wood (witch took a very long time) then used a little wood putty and fixed up the beat up areas then washed down the body with a damp cloth to remove all the sanding dust (when i final sanded the body i used gloves from their on) then i applied 3 coats of sanding sealer, 3 coats of black auto primer, 3 coats of color with a 4th flash coat of color to even out the metallic and then 3 coats of clear. all coats were sprayed thin and the color and clear are auto body poly. then i wet sanded and buffed the finish then started my relic process witch i did with sanding, wet sanding and more buffing and holding the body in playing position to put the "wear" in the right place. i still have to put the finishing touches on it by using a stain trick i learned from and old painter i know that ive worked with painting trim in houses. as for installing a vintage style usa bridge im going to plug the old bridge screw holes with alder dowel rods and re drill the holes for the usa bridge. i had to do this on my black mij strat witch is a horror story i will post about later

Hi stratohawk: I've somehow missed this thread till this minute. Wow, I simply love that color! It must have a name, or at least a color code on the can. I'd be most grateful to know what it is if you felt like posting.

Tell me, did you use aerosols or spray with a gun? And would you mind saying how much of the color paint you used?

If I were you I couldn't bear to knock it around after all that finishing work, but that was the project you set yourself.

I bet you're feeling good about it right now? It's gonna look great under lights...

Congratulations. What's the next project?

Cheers - C
