Hi all,

Anyone know anyting about these? I tried searching but cant really find any info except what Fender has on this page:

http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0265002521

There is a local guy selling one and it looks great. Anyone have one?

Thanks,
Keith

Hi kk5fe: I have the Lite Ash Tele and I find it excellent at the price. Nicely finished, pleasant neck, good sounding pickups and on my one some nice grained timbers (natural finish). That last will be different from guitar to guitar, but in fact a high proportion of those I've seen have had nicely matched body pieces and reasonably good birdseye on the neck.

What's not to like? At that level of the catalog it's a no brainer.

Cheers - C

Thanks, C I guess I was just wondering why it seems like its a discontinued model. Was it not poplular?

Its listed under the USA models on Fender's web page, but elsewhere on the web it says its made in Korea?

Hi Keith: I see that guitar on the products pages under "Special Edition".

http://www.fender.com/products//search. ... ialedition

It is not listed amongst the USA Strats at the top and is indeed as you say made in Korea.

As of this moment it is not discontinued.

If you plump for it - enjoy!

Cheers - C

OK, my bad... I see it isnt under USA. The only reason I said it was discontinued is because on both Guitar Center and Musicians Friends web page, they say its discontinued.

alwaysstrat, thanks for the info as well!

i like to state that the fender korean special edition lite ash strat
is a fantastic strat i do beleve that this lite ash will be one
of the none MIA strats that will be sought after in some years.
the quality and crafmanship on this guitar matches up very well
to the MIA ash strats and some sites have called the lite ash strat
one of the best production strats made today.

Hello KK5fe,

I visit a number of music stores
with some regularity and I haven't
seen one since Christmas.
Great looking and playing axe,
I'll regret not getting one when they
become totally unavailable.
Best of luck with yours, post a photo
we'll all enjoy it, vicariously.

Cheers.

Hello Alwaysstrat,

I don't know, but as forum friend Ceri
pointed out they're still on the fender site
under "special editions" available in
natural,black, and white.

He left a link.

Cheers.

I have often wondered what kind of Ash they use on the Korean made guitars? They do have a nice finish on them.

I have never heard anything but glowing praise for these guitars. I also haven't seen one since before christmas. i should have grabbed one (actually like the tele the best,) when they were easy to find.

Hello Cvilleira,

Sure enough these are really
well done both strat and tele.
Nice gloss finish with that great
figured birdseye maple neck.
It's a tough guitar to put back
on the wall, unless your poor like me.

Cheers.

The Tele's seem to be easier to find right now and I realy liked the Tele's I have tried.
