Does anyone know how to date the Ej's from looking at the serial number?
I've tried fender.com and no luck

Thanks. I don't think there is any way to date the ej's with the exception of removing the pickguard. There is a date tag on the bottom side of the pickguard next to the pickups. Why fender did this I'll never know

Thats just gonna date the pickguard. Im sure they make many at one time and store them for production.

Dont artist series guitars begin SE,SN,or SZ then the year of production ie SE8 =88, SZ6=2006

The EJ strats serial # starts with EJxxx
I have two- EJ12039 EJ07525, purchased about 8 months apart, so I don't know if you can figure a build date from these numbers or if I have the 7525th and 12039th EJ strats produced.
