Hello strat forum!
I've been away from the forum for a while...just too busy playing my strat!
My strat has a trem block...and I was thinking about trying to remove it just to see what it's like. is there any special procedure just as reintonation or truss rod adjustment before/after removing the block?
or do i just yank it out and am i good to go?

Loosen the strings and you should be able to pull that block out. I would suggest a complete setup after removing it.

Hi Chet,
I was wondering what is better.... taking trem block out or keeping it and blocking it with hardwood. I don't use whammy bar at all. What would your preference be?
thanks man/

Me I would block it off, why remove it when you can just block and not use. At least you can reverse it in a flash.

I think there may be some confusion here. I was assuming (Yes, I know what this means) that you were talking about removing a wooden block that had been put in to block your tremolo.
If you were in fact talking about removing the trem block that your strings go through and the springs attach too you cannot remove that block and have the guitar function.

whoops, sorry about that chet.
I just realized also, what I had written and how it must have looked.
I assumed you meant take the block out. My mind is elsewhere, me and the missus recently hit the bricks... and are trying to get back on track....
anyways. no harm done. lol
cheers/ G
