this is probably a stupid question...but is there a way to get the the whammy bar back out of the tremolo unit (2 point style) once it is pushed in?

I have owned strats fro 20 years and never tried to take one out. The screw in type is a no brainer...the "push in" style just spins around. I took the backing plate off...no luck. There is a barely accessible hex bolt that stops it from spinning around in the block ..is that the key?

Anyway I heard you are not supposed to store it in the case with the whammy bar on. It does push against the lid once in there. :?: :?

Just grab it at the base and pull it out. It will get easier over time. There is an adjustment screw inside. Hope that helps you out.

Thank you for the reply...I have been tugging on it ever since and cant budge it. It went in easy, and spins around like normal. I have tried pliers and a soft cloth...nothing gives. I must be missing something basic in my gene pool...I must be the only strat owner since the inception of the brand that cant do this. I can not find anything on the web about this topic..other than how to pop it in

...very frustrating for such a nice guitar.. I have been lugging it around without the case for weeks now. May be I will go on a good snipe hunt instead..thanks again. :?
