HEY JUST WONDERING WHICH GUITAR WOULD BE BETTER ALL ROUND A NEW USA STANDARD STRAT OR A 06 USA STANDARD STRAT.ANY INPUT WOULD REALLY HELP AS I CANT GET TO PLAY EITHER BEFORE I BUY.THANKS

Dont touch either then. They could both be firewood and you will part with money to find out.

That is a good point.but there's no shops anywhere near me selling strats.ill be able to test the 2006 model cause its second hand and it was advertised on my local paper but the 08 would have to be ordered online.

I wouldnt shop online for a guitar. It could be perfectly fine but not meet your requirements and sending it back isnt worth the agro, if wherever you buy it from has a decent returns policy.
Myself i'd go try the 06. Then if you dont like it be a bit patient and wait for a guitar you do like to come up for sale localy.
I fully sympathize with your dilema. Where i live is much the same. The nearest good guitar shops are a minimum of 100 miles away. On britans roads that can be a 4 hour drive sometimes.

If your patient the wait will be worth it. All the best finding your guitar.

I you buy a guitar online thats new and it is from a respected company they will have a return policy so that if you dont like it you can return. Also some places like Sweetwater and Elderly open. inspect and setup all guitars that they sell before the ship them to you. I have bought numerious guitars and had them shipped to me and have had only one problem and that was when UPS left a Gibson at somebody elses house by mistake. That had nothing to do with the place of purchase and I must say the UPS superviser had people looking in force when he found that it was a guitar that cost a few grand. It made to the House at 11:00 that evening.

I would test the 06 and if its what you expect and can save some cash I would get it. I have an 06 Am and its a nice strat.

I would buy the 08 as long as I can return it if I dont like it

I just bought an 06 American Strat second hand and I love it. Either way you can't go wrong.

Yeah, I would say go for the 06. If its nice, buy it. I got an 06 American strat and its great, plus used saves some cash.
