I'd go with the Hwy 1, because it's american and will last longer and be worth more in the long run.

Well why did you get rid of the 50's Road Worn so fast? And then you have to look at what you get with the HWY ONE HSS and the 60's Road Worn and which you like better. They are nothing alike the High WAy One you are looking at is a HSS and the other is SSS. Do you want a Humbucker or do you want classic 3 single coils of the 60's Road worn. If you want SSS you can get that as a HWY One as well.
Me I would also look at the Classic Series 60's Strat if you want a 60's Startocaster over the HWY One. :D

the new raod worn is...........AMAZING i bout it a couple of days ago and damn!!!!! this thing is sweat. i prefere the 50's then the 60's strat. go out and buy one ... now ... seriously ... go ... out the door ... hurry up.

It's so "sweat," plays so nice and great, that it's worth keeping for a week, at least!

Good luck, guitarcraz94, on your choice between '50s, '60s, and '70s styling. I hope you didn't lose too much money on that Road Worn '50s. Did your shop have a full-trade-in policy! Too much!

I love my Highway One SSS. The only other upgrade I may do is put in a Dimarzio Super Distortion S (to keep the classic Strat look) or the regular Super Distortion Humbucker. I love the Neck and Middle pups the way they are, just need more umph from the bridge pup.

Otherwise it is a very nice guitar. I knew when I bought it that the Single Coil in the back would be a little weak and have to be changed out eventually, but the guitar played in the store was sooo nice when I bought it (I even played other HWY 1's including the HSS model) I knew that this one was the one for me.

Someone does,nt seem to know what they want. Thats 3 completely different gutiars. If you traded in the 50s road worn you got something for it or you returned it for your money back. I think you should go to gutiar center and spend some time with the gutiars before you make your choice. Nobody here can decide which you would like. I have a 50s road worn and like it but I have 7 other strats also no 2 are alike and I like them all.

i got money back for it almost 900 because of its condition. it was a really good guitar but i heard that they break very easily so thats why i got ride of it so fast. i do regret getting it but "whats done, is done". also the highway one sounds so much better then the 60's so i think thats what im going to be buying very shortly.

Hi guitarcraz94: by all means pick up a Highway One Strat. But see if you can keep it more than a week. Many people feel the tone improves with age - somewhere around halfway through the first month...

Cheers - C

i am partial to guitars that have at least one humbucker located in the bridge position(ideally mixed with one or two single coils further up), so since i own two of them....and broke my long-time allegiance to the shred king ibanez RG's i've played on stage......forever.... i would whole heartedly recommend the made in america , upgraded HIGHWAY 1 HSS and you will surely have a nice axe/tool to play and keep as a future investment.
