Hey Fender people :)

I know that this was discused 100 times before, but i dont have the time to read everything and the search button is not really helping :) So i apologize!

I have Fender texas special stratocaster, and i have problems with her tuning capabilities. Im looking into locking tuners. I dont use tremolo, and i have it sitting on the body-that improved the problem. But i would like to bring it as far as i can to make it stay in tune better. Sholud i try locking tuners? Which ones? Are you happy with them? Other suggestions? And sorry, im a little rusty with my english :)

You may not need locking tuners in your case. Since you do not use the tremolo, try putting a block of wood in between the tremol;o block to lock that in place, so that it will not lift from the body as you bend strings.
Also, you may want to check the retaining nuts on the tuning machines and make sure they are tightly in place. Loose hardware can make your tuners slip.
And finallly, make sure when you string the guitar to not overlap the string windings around the post, and you should have no more than 2-3 winds around each post.
That should help with your problem.
If your tuners are not damaged in any way, then you should not need the expense of locking tuners.
