I just picked up a new Clapton Artist Series Strat and noticed tonight that the truss rod access hole isn't centered with the neck or the head. It's about 1/4" to the right. Is this something I need to be concerned about?

Thanks in advance!
Joe

I'd take that back and change it. I'm not sure but have a suspicion that if the truss rod isnt centered then it could warp the neck when its tightened.

Thanks for the responses! Alas, she went back today. My dealer was a little surpised, but squared me away quickly and with many apologies (can't beat a good guitar store).

Here's a quick pic:

Thanks again!

I see that picture and my stratadiction went from a 99% to a 87% right now ... I can't understand how a brand like FENDER which is known all over the world and whose guitars are played by millions Can have an inspection system that lets guitars like this reach the stores......... they should do something about it!!

outch!!! I usually stand up for fender against folks who play makes like Bacchus and Edwards. They always say that fender are just mass produced with little to no human contact, whereas the japaneeze brands hand make guitars for good prices.

I always stood up for fender in these cases, but now im not so sure i should have been doing so. This is unjustifiable on any guitar, but a clapton sig model??? thats outrageous.

Hard to believe the dealer did not notice it either. That from building, to QC to dealer, no one took notice.

I guess as long as they make up for it then no harm done.

Food for thought: Has anyone seen a MIM neck pass through their QC with this problem?

I've never seen that on a MIA but I've never seen it on a MIM either.

Maybe it's a forgery ... a fake Fender.

Unfortunately, some would. Maybe we need to know what kind of deal this guitar was.
