Got a question...when I play my strat,(with tremolo bar off) I have a tendency to 'finger' the volume knob and lose master volume...really bugs!!! Is there an after market knob with more resistance to avoid the troublesome turning down of the volume? Or can stock knobs be tweeked to help out...maybe switching volume and tone knobs?? I play with the trem. blocked off..Thanks for your input...Mr e sharp,LOL...

I'm sure your not gonna want to try these 2 solutions, but I've witnessed alot of people with the same problem. Some that basically leave their volume knob on one setting most of the time, just put a piece of tape over it. Others just take the knob off completely, while you can still turn the knob, it's just not accidently turned by hitting it or something like that.

I think for some people (depending on playing habits), the volume knob on a strat is in the worst possible place it could be. While on the other hand, the knob is in the most perfect spot.

For me, I think it's in the perfect spot.

Not too sure about a pot with more resistance though.

Thank you hurricane...I've tried them both and the no knob seems to work best, I've been playing that way but your right , volume is in the perfect spot. like a baboon, i put on a piece of tape @ a jam to hold volume and the only tape we could procure left some nasty residue...'dang it!!' I have taken apart pots before and you can tighten them by bending the two contact tangs up to put more pressure on the contact plate...real pain in the rumpus..But you take a chace of snapping off the tang...knob off for me!!

thanks for the reply addict...I'm liken the knob off and am in the process of trying to clean of the goo left from the tape..sheesh...looks like its gonna be a new pick guard cause I had to step up the power of the solvent to 'de-goo' and actully etched the guard...anyhoo, maybe time for a color change...ah well..time to dis-assemble and give her the once over, she'll love me for it!!!

Take the knob off, put a couple of drops of Locktite around the shaft, put the knob back on.

Take off the knob, wrap a piece of tape around the top of the control pot, put the knob back on.

Take the knob off, solder the shaft in place, put the knob back on.
