I had one of these years ago but sold it (I don't know why). What an amazing amp! I picked it up today and played for about 5 hours straight. Did a lot of writing with it too. The tones on this thing are truly inspiring!

Glad you like i CW. The new ones are much better than the old us made ones from what I hear, and the speaker in those tweeds is meant to be a vast improvement too.
Can i ask about that black strat though? There seems to be a few marks around the body and no truss cover at the headstock.

The alnico speaker is a huge improvement over the one in the usual Blues Jr. I'm already looking at some of the Billm mods for it!

The black Strat is my 1962 American Vintage Reissue. I play it between three and four hours a day and gig at least twice a week. With the delicate nitro finish it picks up marks and dings pretty easily. As for the truss rod, it's true '62 spec. There is no skunk stripe on the back of the neck either- truss rod is adjusted at base of the neck and you have to remove it to get to the adjustment.

It's a fantastic guitar!

Of te Billm mods i strongly recommend the jumper cable across the terminals on mid volume pot. Ive a 95 blues jr (green board) that i dont like much but that mod improved it no end. It allows the mids to sccop to zero like the old tweed amps. Its a easy peasy mod too you dont even need to solder the cable in to try it. Infact i tried it on mine, liked it and just put some insulation tape over the cable to help hold it. It does hold well without but i doubt woud stand transporting much.

That 62 RI is nice, i dont play my 57hotrod much for fear of damaging the finish. After seeing yours i may start.

I'm going to do the twin stack mod tonight, actually. looks simple enough!

I would play that '57 until it fell apart, man. Not to get into another 'relic' debate but I love every little scratch, dent, ding, buckle scratch and cigarette burn on that guitar. Each one tells a story.

Thank you- I never thought the color combo would work but as soon as I saw one in person I knew that I had to have it black!

Good for you, sir...and don't worry. That's exactly where Stratocaster TR adjustments are supposed to be made! :)
