I just have this burning feeling that they will reissue ther american standard 2008

I can see it now the '08 vintage reissue

but what else do you think is worthy of reissuing in the future?

Well, there are a few neat MIM guitars that might be worth RI'ing. We'll just have to wait and see.

If we knew the answers to that question, I believe we would all be stocking up on those instruments like there was no tomorrow. That way, if not us, then our children would become millionaires.

Although i dont own one i'd say the deluxe and American standard/series are a good bet. I think by 2058 music will have changed so much that reissues wont be around though. Look at how music has changed over the last 50 years. Whats to say that something wont happen tomorrow that ends what we know as modern popular music. All that 80's electro stuff was garbage but clearly led to he house/dance/rave music were plagued with today. No matter how bad that stuff is theres no stopping it now, much the same as modern rhythm & no-blues tripe. It seems likely that the whole re-issue market will end one day. People arent going to buy that stuff forever.

I would say the only one made today with a chance would be the American Standard. Who knows 50 years from the now America as we no it will not be same for our Grand Kids. Better or Worst only time will tell.

i surf the web and read comments about
the new american standard strat and a huge
majority of players who have the american standard
are not very happy for many differnt reasons.
i also have read that on many differnt rate a product
sites that a vast majority of players who own the
highway one strat prefer it over the american standard
so in reality i have to say the highway one in 50 years.

id say maybe the 2004 american deluxe because from my experience the 04 deluxe is the best playing and sounding usa non custom shop strat to be made since over 35 years ago jmo but who knows maybe the make a reissue of the 83 elite other than that nothing really needs to change on the strat so i dont see much reason for to many different new reissues

That's the best given here answer yet. A re-iuuse of an American Standard...no. What the hell is magic about an Am Standard? There's nothing wrong with it, but there's also no magic, no lure, no history, no ground breaking innovations, no glory, no desirability in the studio, nothing grand ever recorded with it, in short it has very little past, so in Fender's world why would it have a future that includes re-issues?

Why would you re-issue something that is constantly in supply, being improved all the time, being sold all the time, and no collectability?

Let's give this Am Standard business a rest. They're good guitars basically. That's it.

Hi Midnight Strat: if they are reissuing anything half a century from now I have an instinct the 1957 and 1962 Strats may be amongst them. Just a hunch...

Cheers - C
