I just replaced the tuners on my mim Strat, used the ping F logo locking ones. I had to enlarge the headstock holes as well as drill two small alignment holes for each tuner. by the time i got to the last one, i had the method down pat, went back and re-aligned a couple that didn't quite sit flush with the body. it took a couple of hours to complete, but now the guitar stays in tune like it should. Its a 1995 MIM, Squire series, according to Lemmy, and the new tuners added some mass at the headstock, making the guitar feel more balanced and solid.

I put Sperzels on my MIM but it required a bit of drilling. So Sperzels are out of the race for ya.
