While doing some other work on my MIJ 80's Strat, I noticed some fret wear that I had overlooked before.

A shop told me today that because of the locking tremolo setup it would cost $195, almost the value of the guitar to correct.

Overall I like this guitar and the wear does not seem to be causing any buzzing or other problems so far.

Anyone tried dressing the frets themselves?

Also, what about the quality of the $400(US) Strats out there?

Dan

Do you have a thing for the guitar? Is the frets causing an audible problem? You could always smash it on stage, just kidding.
