I am looking at buying a Deluxe Strat tomorrow but would also consider an American Standard. Can anyone give me any info on the S1 Switching system? Good or Bad? Thanks!!!

I dont know a lot about the S1 but I have an american deluxe and its awesome. Definately go for the deluxe. When i was at the guitar store there was a Standard in sienna sunburst that was cool but i love the deluxe.

The s1 is a good system. It can prove a little hard to work or rather get very specific sounds out of, but they are all there. To be blunt i think its the best idea fender have had since the 6 saddle tele trem. Ive got it on my custom shop guitar and wouldnt change a thing about it.

I purchased an American Deluxe Strat HSS in July last year, and I can't tell you how much I love this guitar! It's far better than I ever thought it could be. I checked out the American Standard Strat, which I almost bought, but decided I'm settling for something less than I really want. I'm not saying the American Standard's are not great guitars, they're sweet. I've had my eye on an American Deluxe for 3 years before I made the purchase. I love the S1 switching system. I can really get into the deep, rich tones it brings out. It's like having two guitars in one!! You'll love it!!

Totaly.
It may take a little time to get used to though. Snatch put it far better than I.

Plus, you get those SCN pickups, too. Nice.
