I am glad you are Happy with your new guit. But I have road tested these things twice there is no way I spend 9 bills on one of these things maybe 5 bills but that will be My limit on one and thats if I could talk Myself into that.
I guess you either Love that on road trashed look or you hate it. It is a aquired taste to want to buy a guitar that looks like that new because I am sure it does nothing to make it sound better then a pristine new one.

Hmmmmmm...... Mexi strat for $950, or USA strat for $1,000. Boy, thats a tough one

Agreed. I assume it was offered to fill the demand for reliced guitars by people who can't afford Custom Shop prices. I can see how some people might think it was a bargain if your alternative is the CS.

On the other, there are people like me. I have a 23 year-old Strat with just one tiny dent and a scratch on the headstock made by a rogue string.

aren't people always saying that its all about whats comfortable for the individual? maybe some of you think $950 is alot for a MIM strat, but some people may really enjoy it. if he likes it then thats all that matters. good luck with it.

I'm starting to like the Road Worn series. I usually hate Relic's but the specs are just too great not to resist.

i dont see the point in these. why not just buy a classic 60's strat and relic it yourself.

they are the same guitar pretty much, just different pickups, but i put texas specials in mine anyway.

Congratulations GC94! Awesome.

Pay no attention to the naysayers. Not everyone's cup of tea, and a lot more went into that guitar than they realize.

I'm amazed sometimes at the number of folks who never learned the lesson Thumper's mother reminded him that his Father had taught him..."If you can't say anything nice...(slight baby bunny sigh)...shut the @$#% up."

Looking forward to seeing it.

well Dimefan, I like the nitro finish and the 6105 frets, which are not
on the classic series. I really don't like the tiny vintage frets and it'll take on it's own unique look after it's been played in awhile. :D

With the "new" (improved?) prices, the Road Worn aren't that out of line.

I see the new MAPs of some of the other MIM reissues to be:

Classic 50s $870
Classic Player 50s $1110
Road Worn 50s $950.

Of course, you can still find Classic 50s and Classic Player 50s for the pre-increase prices of $699 and $799 (if you hurry)
AND if you talk to your dealers, you can pay less than the MAP.
A little negotiating can save you some money!

Congratulations!

If tone and feel are your main priorities you simply cannot beat that guitar for the price. I played a few and loved them! Enjoy it!
