Would you pay $340 for a MIJ early 90s foto flame strat with Floyd Rose Tremolo? The Strat has a Floyd Rose Tremolo, pearloid pickguard and seems to be in great condition. Any opinions? I have heard the MIJ strats are great players.

If it sounds good to you, you like the Floyd Rose bridge, and a flat rosewood fret board then absolutely. That's a good price in my opinion. What color is it? I have a '92 red photo flame. Check the bridge over really good for missing little parts. I had a pin fall out of my high e saddle. Its slips occasionally when I use the whammy. I haven't gotten around to fixing it. At first I loved the FR bridge then started to get into blues (string bends) and hated it. I'm starting to mellow out now, added newer springs and fine tuned the setup and its getting back in my favor. LOL I bring this up in case you aren't familiar with the FR bridge. Once you have it, your stuck with it there is no going back to a standard bridge with the foto flame finish. (You cant fill the void and repaint it like Gilmour did) You can block it, which is a lot more hassle than the standard tremolo bridge or get the Kahler fixed bridge conversion. Having blabbed all that, I point you back the first sentence. Id get it for that price in a heart beat but that is me.

wow- lucky find!! I went to the original shop a few months ago to only find a model that I didnt purchase and turned down when I got my first strat (MIM Floyd Standard)in '94- a butt ugly purple burst foto flame 50's classic. It was soo ugly that its taken the retailer 12 years to sell.. the last I saw it had shop marks and scratches, dings everywhere, you name it and they sol it for $399- and thats $NZD..

I think youve got a good buy- id buy it if it was in good condition :)

Depending on the condition. If the Floyd is in decent condition (be sure to check those string lock inserts, they have a tendency to disappear if you're not careful), and everything panned out, I'd do it with the quickness. From my experience MIJ's or CIJ's between 90' and 00' offer some of the most decent craftsmanship I've seen. I'm sitting on 2 that are simply incredible!
Can't believe how lucky I was to stumble upon them.

Good luck in your purchase.
