Before I was a strat freak, I was a Gibson person for about ten years. When I was just out of high school, I ordered my one and only Les Paul standard. On the day it arrived in the mail I strapped it on and began posing in front of the mirror like Slash or Jimmy Page. Suddenly the strap came loose and the guitar fell and hit the bottom of the mirror. Two major dings were inflicted on my Paul that I had only owned for about 15 minutes. I've since come to accept them as battle scars which "add character" to my guitar, but I still , after 19 years, shake my head at how stupid I was! Now with my strats I'm a bit more careful, but the occasional ding or scratch is bound to happen. Oh well!

I actually bashed my strat on my desk(i heard a loud thump), and the guitar was pristine
I don't doubt urethane finish can stop bullets! haha
It'll take forever for my bulletproof strat to wear naturally, but I'm not "relicing" it...my guitar will not be a subject of my inexperienced bashing and scratching
