I recently tried setting up my classic player 60s strat and I just can't find a sweet spot, it seems that for it to feel good it needs too much buzz. When it's a where it doesn't buzz but doesn't feel great, if I put a capo on the first fret it feels awesome. This makes me wonder do you think my nut is not shallow enough? are there any fixes? about how much would it probably be to fix it?

thanks,

Could be an issue with the nut. I'd take it in and have the nut checked by a Tech. Total cost should be well under $100.

Yeah could very well be the nut, If that is the issue I would recommend a really hard bone nut or a graphtech nut those are great and very solid.... :)

I have an MIM with a similar problem. My 'G' string sits to high on the nut....
 The 'B' string groove is cut to deep.

My tech did a set up and used a file to clean it up. I think it ran about $40. But ultimately I will have to get a new nut. Its nothing to be ashamed about. It happens to the best of us. I put Graphtech saddles on so might as well go with the nut too. I have only heard good things about 'em.

Great Guitar by the way! I have the CP 50's. Love it!
