Hey guys, new to the board.

I've got a 68 Reissue Strat in a natural finish. I bought it on my 14th birthday which is now almost 9 years ago. It's a bit beaten up now after years of alot of use (lessons, gigs, recordings and rehearsals). It's not 100% original any more as I had to do a complete rewire to it recently (I screwed the wiring up years ago). The only original thing about the electronics is the middle pickup which is the stock Fender single coil and the 5 way switch. It now has a Bill Lawrence L250 in the bridge and a Seymour duncan Hot Stack in the neck. Recently set up with Ernie Ball 12 - 56's tuned to E flat. It also had a refret about 4 years ago I think to switch to 6100 frets.

This is what it looked like a couple of years ago before the rewire.

Anyone else have a 68 reissue? Any one know the story on these? like how long they were made for, any special info.

the only 68 reissue i can think of was the 68 reverse. plus 68's only had 1 string retainer on the headstock. and natural finish?

but then again i was 10 at the time 2000

All the various dings, scratches, dents and wear is all from just regular use over the past 9 years. I've dropped it, accidently hit cymbals, Alot of them are a mystery to me, I don't remember how half the wear got there

The neck is starting to get some real nice wear to it. I sanded the finish on the back of the neck to get a smooth satin finish and the fretboard wasn't relaquered when it was refretted, so it's starting to look really well played it.

I've taken some pictures of it which show just how played in it is, so I'll upload them soon.
