I'm building an early 70's strat clone...just picked up a CAR 60's classic body off ebay for cheap but have no idea which Fender vintage style trems work without further mods. I've always used MIJ/CIJ bodies for projects which AVRI parts work with...this is my first MIM strat project so help would be appreciated...GRACIAS!!!

You have to measure the spread of the 6 mounting holes for the vintage trem to find out what units will fit. Measure from outside holes center to center. Also check string spacing to make sure it will fit the fretboard without strings being to close to the edge of the board.

Bear in mind too that '70s strats have 3 neck bolts, and micro tilt Good luck mate

I guess what I'm asking is this... will an AMVI or MIJ/CIJ bridge fit w/o modification. Or perhaps one of the new road worn bridges. I'm looking to find one on ebay and basically don't want to order one that won't work and I don't have the body yet so can't measure.

I can tell you that MIA and MIM vintage tremelos are different. I do have a Made in Japan body that accepted a USA vintage trem cuz the 6 hole mount lined up. You really have to measure the items in question to see if they will fit, or ask the seller to do so for you.
