where do you go to get a custom guitar made for you. and just keep the simple that has a good and rich tone color

I have done as many as 10 coats in the past but that not the norm. now for custom color just pick a nice color car you like or look car colors codes and go to the Dupont dealer and give them the code and they will mix it for you. Or you can order it from places like this as spray or other.

Game I like to play on a long drive is to look at the other cars' colors and decide which ones would look good on guitars.

Right now I think German cars have very nice blues, both solid and semi-metallic ones. French cars are often kinda pastel candy finishes that look horrible on cars - but strangely I think might look quite good on a guitar. But then you probably don't see many French cars in America...!

You want to see a cool finish go to the warmoth site and look at the new Crushed Steel color  It is sweet looking. I am not sure which I like better?

You get finishes like that by spraying a jet black undercoat, and then using a bit slower drying colour coat, and throwing some cling wrap over it before it dries, and 'massaging' it before it dries, then the black under coat shows through. easier to do than to explain really.I'm planning on doing something similar on my Ibanez.

It looked like this a couple days ago,

Now it looks like :

The sanding isn't done in this shot, I needed to get more paper.
Not sure when I will get to finishing the finishing work, I will be going out of town for a bit, so i don't want to do it part way, then restart.

Hi Twelvebar: nice work! If you go ahead with that finish you described what about taking lots of photos and running a thread on it? That's something new to most of us - I'm sure we'd be glad to see it happening, step by step.

Good luck with it, anyhow.

BTW: I wonder what that timber is you've uncovered. Could it be Japanese basswood, I wonder, which is supposedly more pink in color than other Asian varieties...?

Cheers - C
