If you plan on using a wah-wah, the Cry-Baby 535Q has a boost circuit, that will add a little boost, possibly enough for you to solo with. Nice gear by the way! I'll have the same setup as you after my Super Champ comes today! On my birthday too! Today is a good day.

I like the simple old EH LPB-1. Simple and cheap, $40 out the door.

I have a Boss Compression Sustainer, it gives you boost and sustain. With some pedals you`ll need a Noise Supressor also.

I use a Boss GE-7 after my distortion pedals to give me a boost in volume for solos. I set most of the sliders in the middle, only slightly raising the low end, then I raise the volume slider to my liking. Works great!

Yiassou Petros,

I used to use the Ibanez TS-5 as a boost which worked quite well if you back the drive down. Using more gain gave you a bit more sustain. It's not a very distorted pedal, but rather more edgy. Very reminicent of Stevie Ray Vaughan's edgy lead tone.
Fulltone makes several pedals which are really good for boosting signal without saturating with distortion. Robin Trower is a very good example of how their pedals will boost and sustain your tone.

What the heck: since we're naming pedals here I have a lot of time for Blackstar's current range. Their HT-Boost pedal does exactly what it says on the tin.

Or for more options, the Blackstar HT-Dual two stage pedal offers everything from clean boost to crunch to way up distorted lead. Some other tricks and features too.

Check 'em out here:

I've pretty much ripped off his entire effects board- with the exception of a classic Cry Baby instead of the Fulltone wah. The Fat Boost is really an excellent peddle for solo boosts.

True bypass is the way to go!!

Catalinbread Super Chili Picoso pedal. Weird name but really good booster. Hand made in USA. Have a Clean boost which won't dirty your sound and give up to 35dB of signal boost. Also has a "Fat" boost which can add a bit of dirt if that's your thing.

Cheers.

I've had good experiences with Catalinbread. Check out this vid.

I use my Jekyll and Hyde (which is basically a combination tube screamer and distortion pedal) for solos. I just kick in the Jekyll (tube screamer) side, and if I need more distortion on it I'll kick in the other side too. And I'll usually change pickups from either the neck or middle for rhythm to the middle or bridge for soloing.

I use the same setup, my tech recommended the Jekyll & Hyde pedal and I highly recommend to any one looking to achieve the same results

Iead a lot about J&H. Isn't it more to the metal side ?

It can be. It can do anything from SRV to ZZ Top to Metallica, and it's the only pedal I use live (besides the wah, which I don't use a whole lot). As far as getting real hardcore/death metal type stuff out of it I'm not sure, I've never tried using it for that.

While my soul lies in classic rock, blues and heavy driven blues based rock there is a dark side to my playing and every now and then I enjoy breaking out the Gibson or one of my humbucker guitars for a little metal. While I mainly use my J&H pedal for my blues based hard rock the J&H is a very versatile pedal and killer metal tones can be achieved with a few tweaks of the knobs. I ask that those that might be some what skeptical about the J&H to please have an open mind and definitely check one out at your local music store. I myself was skeptical at first and after jamming with and tweaking the pedal for different tones I brought it home. Money well spent on this very versatile pedal. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding on the J&H pedal 8)

A tubescreamer with the gain down low and the volume cranked works quite nice. :)
