Ian sheridan, you are daft or bloody wonkers or whatever U.K. euphemism for doing to this stuff to a guitar. I wouldn't pay extra for this. I wouldn't give Fender any money for a road worn. Call the guys @ Gruhn Guitars for an appraisal.

Hold fire there Mr Qblue! The guitar is not for sale! It's for me to record with, bash about, gig with, strum infront of the TV and look pretty in my living room! I'm not asking anyone to put a value on it or buy it!

I just think that it's quite nice that it looks a bit like those cool £2000 Custom Shop relics that I've lusted after for so long, yet only cost £350.

Let's face it, not everyone looks cool with a pristine guitar. Imagine Seasick Steve sitting in his dirty boiler suit playing a mint condition shiny Ibanez Gem? It's all out of context isn't it?

Ironically, I'm currently eating a Fajita, as apposed to a cucumber sandwich...

Fajita's are ok. As long as the crust is removed and you raise your little finger as you lift it to your mouth. Of course you must forego tea in favour of pimms with such foodstuffs.

Of course it is the most uncouth of all foodstuffs and natually as there was company present, I retired to my room to eat my fajita in solitute.

Would it be lowering the tone simply awfully to note that raising the little finger whilst bringing a cup to the mouth started out as a gesture used by Elizabethen prostitutes to signal that they were available for business?

Talk about culture rising from the street... Who's going to tell the Queen?

Anyhow, Pimms taken with fajitas is fine, but it must be drunk from the bottle and it is vital to insert a wedge of lime in the neck first. Just my humble opinion, obviously...

Cheers - C

Yeah i may just dump the gold in a bucket of vinegar and see what happens. Funnily enough for someone who despises guitars my missus is taking quite a active roll in my project. She'll know what to household substance to use.

Women absolutely love crafts. A project like this is a lot like the stuff they do on "Trading Spaces" and shows like that. involve her, and get her opinions (on method, not on any part you care about,) and you'll be surprised at the new flexibility your budget will have!!
