The itch to add a few dings and a bit of forearm wear got too much on a wet Sunday afternoon! I like it!

Surf green undercoat, interestingly....

I would say you added 400. in value to that bad boy  We have a guy loacal who has been doing that to MIM's for about a year now and it looks like most are selling for like and extra 150. dollars on top of the cost of the guitar. Not a bad way to make money plus shows what fender must be making on them

Relics are a bit like Marmite - people either love them or hate them!
(I don't think that analogy will translate very well outside the UK?)

Cheers Ninja - I tried hard to keep it looking 'unsanded' I was looking at the Road Worn guitars in the shop and they have very prominent sanding marks, which displeased me, as wear is wear - it's worn! Worn slowly over time and should appear smooth and even polished right?
However, I'd love to know how the hadware is aged so well???

I scuffed up the knobs a touch and took some of the paint out the numbers, and put a bit of acidic vinigar on the screw heads with small paint brush, but it only slightly took the shine off - I might just have to wait a few years for those to wear in and loose their lustre!

Hi Ian, nice to see you round the Forum again.

You've gone from expertly repairing dings to expertly making 'em!

8.15 pm: it just started raining where I am - it was sunny this afternoon. So that's how long it took those clouds to get from your house to mine.

Cheers - C

PS I love Marmite!

Hours of rain still didn't melt all the ice though! My cats are getting cabin fever!

It's nice to pop back to the forum. my new job doesn't really allow for endless hours browsing the net! shame!
Hope you guys are well! I did have a look for you and the Nikininja on Brads Facebook page but couldn't spot you??

Im currently relicing a newly refinished but wrecked strat body. Its process is a little different to yours in that theres no clearcoat to get through. Im using a orbital sanders buffing/polishing attatchment to try and get a worn rather than sanded look. Also I think i've hit on a fast way to nicotine stain. Tell you more when the results can speak/show.

I believe Niki's there - I'm too crusty to do Facebook.

My cats have been most surprised by the snow. They've never seen it before. They've been staying in sleeping by the radiators all week, with only quick missions outdoors to steal next door's cat's food. A very economical arrangement...

Cheers - C

PS There's an important thread about chocolate fingerboards you need to catch up on. I feel you are the very man to make a useful contribution to that one...

Not o facebook just myspace and I was cajolled into that.

The completely spammy nature of myspace is a decent way to keep up with smaller bands gigging in the local vicinity. I wouldnt advise it for social networking.

I'm on both MySpace and Facebook. Both are OK.

I'm sure my keyboard is playing up, or its a side effect of paint fumes.

It should read not ON facebook.
