i'm not sure, but if you're trying to get his tone, it would be more about amp effects and pedals that will get you the tone, not minor details like that

I wouldn't even mess with the pick-up hight!simple :roll:
But it's true there are a vasst range of pedals and amps to please your needs :)

Actually I do have my guitar set the way I like it. I was just wondering in relation to Stevie Ray who had his pickups set low, string action high, and used heavy strings if Jimi did the same or used a different setup.

From all the pictures I've seen, I really don't think Jimi gave a damn what his setup was. His guitar setup was totally different from pic to pic.

Here's a good close up pic. Looks like this time he likees his pickups high and the bridge floating alittle bit.

Exactly. My guess is that with four cranked marshall stacks, it'd be pretty tough to tell the difference in pickup height. :lol:

I had an 80's lefty strat that was strung up righty. It was a fun guitar, but being used to playing righty strats, the controls really got in my way. Great guitar, great concept, just a little more difficult to work with (imho).
