Are they good? I play mainly blues and classic rock but have mostly stayed away from Strats for their mostly weak-ish sounding bridge pick-ups, but this seems to be a good alternative. The seller hasn't answered me back yet, but I do know that it has the LSR roller nut and pop-in bridge.

Here's a pic-

So, what's the word on these guitars? Of course, it don't have the exact specs, but generally, are they good?

For blues and classic rock, it should fare well. It really depends on your other equipment, your playing style on whether this guitar would be for you, and the quality of the pick-ups in this guitar. If you can, play it through your rig before buying.

The worst that you may have to do is change out the pots and bridge pick-up to a high powered humbucker. Depends on how well the current pickups will sound with your stuff.

I play Rock, Metal, and Blues. I own a Fender Highway 1 Stratocaster (stock Pick-ups) with a SSS pick-up configuration. I have no issues playing Rock or Blues. I get a decent Metal sound out of it, but I know if I would drop a good humbucker like a Dimarzio Super Distortion or EMG 85 in it I will definitely have the crunch I am accustomed to.

Welcome to the Forum. You have to like Stratocasters to be able to appreciate them. With a little TLC and tweaking it could be one of the best guitars that you'll ever own.

Thanks for the welcome. I do plan to play through my amp. From what I've read, the guitar has Lace Sensors, so wondering about those. Also the geneal quality of it and such.

I have heard a lot of good thing about Lace pickups. You may not need to change anything out and leave it as is, it just depends on what model Lace pick-ups they are. Good luck with your endeavor.

Some research for you. I wish they had soundbytes to hear the different ones.

I have a Strat Ultra w/ Lace sensors in a HSS arrangement. This guitar is perfect for blues, rock, fusion, smooth jazz, anything. I think Fender used these Lace sensors because they preceded their own version of noiseless pickups. I have a Blue neck pu, Gold middle pu, and a dually pair Red bridge pu. The sound is PURE Fender.

The Plus series is the same except it won't have a dual "humbucker" @ the bridge, and probably has a rosewood fingerboard, as opposed to ebony on the Ultra series. Roller nut and 2-point tremelos are generally identical. Please check this link:

Oh yeah, unless you are Xhefri (Jeffrey) these guitars ( first the Plus and later the Ultra) are hard to come by. They are the new FMIC corporation flagship models after it was reformed in the late '80s and into the early '90's.
I would get one of these without thinking, especially if the price is right. These guitars are MIA and don't age too much. I wish I could find more specs, but check the Jeff Beck Stratocaster for a close approximation.

One of the first major jobs the fender custom shop did was to design a reissue yellow strat for Jeff Beck.
They pitched the idea of that becoming a signature model, he declined, and they developed that guitar into the 'Strat Plus' line. It would have been their first signature model, instead that honor went to Clapton, and 2nd to Malmsteen.

Thanks for the links. And would you say $400 is a good price for one?

It would be a good deal at twice that price. Here in Australia they go for about three times as much as you'd be paying (that's if you were to purchase one second hand from a dealer). Not sure what people are getting away with paying on eBay at the moment, but that's a great price whichever way you look at it. I've got an ultra as well, and I'd snap that up without thinking. They'll be regarded as some of Fender's best production line instruments in a few years time, I'm sure, but the main thing is that they're great players. Very versatile, and keep their sharp looks well.

Snap it up thats £350 uk.

Your never going to get the strident tele sound out of a strat bridge, but thats what tele's are for. You will find tones on a par with em out of a strat albeit different.

Buy it NOW, unless it's unplayable. My god it has a hardshell case. This is a rare guitar.

You've gotten some really good advice on that guitar. The case...is the Plus case of that genre. I have an '89 Clapton in one of those.( That's a Strat Plus with an afterburner.)

Buy the guitar, see what it will do, and then decide if you want to mod it.

That website you were referred to. Classic!! There's a go to guy to followup.

Enjoy :!:

I love that guitar! Get it!!! I have the '96 Jeff Beck Signature Strat that's basically a Strat Plus with the dual single coil in the bridge. The Lace sensors have a unique and very good sound in my opinion. I did replace one of my gold lace sensors with a red lace at the bridge but that's all I've done to that guitar. I play it just as much as my new 2005, 2006 American Deluxe Strats. It has a tone that is just special.

I'd love to have another plus in my collection. I paid $1100 for mine new back in '96.
