I just bought one a couple of days ago, and I'm pretty impressed overall. I really didn't have to change my fretting technique because I had a light touch anyway. I bought the vintage white with RW fretboard The guitar plays great, but does take some getting used to.

I don't pretend to play like Ynqwie, I was just looking for something different in my collection.

I'd like to hear how you enjoy the gouged fingerboard and if you end up adjusting your playing style to accomodate.

I really haven't had to adjust my technique too much. I was surprised to learn that I had a light touch on the fret board already. I does take some getting used to not having any wood beneath your fingertips.
