Hey guys, i've just ran a straight edge down it and as far as i can tell it's perfectly straight.......Just can't seem to get those dog gone strings off the first few fretts.

PLEASE GUIDE ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION IF YOU CAN..

THANK YOU

JEFF

I wish you could have seen it when i got it out of the repair shop yesterday.

So if the neck is straight, what do you think is causing my action to be so close at the top ?

Right now i have all the strings level from 1st to last fret. Now i just need to find a way to raise the action to the intire fret board

What would you do ?

JEFF

Lower frets as in 1,2,3&4 its your nut. higher frets 19,20,21 its the tilt of the neck.

I just looked at the pics again. Looks like the nut may be cut too low.

Exactly which frets are buzzing? If its the end near the tuning pegs you need to replace the nut. If its the end near the pickups you need to adjust the tilt of the neck. Neither require touching the trussrod.

download a Fender Strat owner's manual if you don't have yours and read the set up section carefully a bunch of times. It will tell yo how to check the neck adjustments. It would be the best if you could have your guitar looked at by a good guitar tech in a good guitar shop. when you lightly capo the strings at the first fret and hold down the low E string at the 22nd fret there should be a .010 gap between the top of the 8th fret and the bottom of the 6th string. Use an automotive feeler guage to measure this or a .010 high e string.
