Hello everybody, hows it going?

Yall i have a couple of questions if you don't mind please.

(!) The trust rod has been loosened and the strings are low at the nut and high at the end. Please tell me my neck is alright, because she's my baby girl " EMILY " who's a 94 40th anniversary fender stratocaster MIA.
Can anyone please tell me what i need to do before i have a heart attack.

(2) Ok, will it affect my neck or my string height by screwing in the tremelo tension spring screws in far?

Yall, i would be so very greatfull if anyone could help me,i'm alittle worried about my guitar right now.

TAKE CARE
JEFF

It could be well worth taking the guitar to a setup bloke.
Every opinion here is to some degree speculative. Its hard to tell what a guitar needs without handling it.

Your truss rod is loose, whats the neck relief like? How much bow is in the neck? its unusuall to have em slackened all the way off.

How is the neck pitch in regards to the face line of the body. With the neck perfectly straight is the back of the headstock the same measurement from the back of the body line as the neck heel?

Theres a lot more to necks than trussrod adjustments. Post some detailed pictures to get a better idea of whats going on. Ultimately it needs taking to somebody to sort out from the sound of things.

why has the trussrod been loosened? it makes sense that your strings are high because there should be a major bow because of the loosened trussrod..... it needs to be adjusted you can do it or take it to a guitar tech to do it.. I don't think theres anything wrong with the guitar it just needs a setup

Hey man i appreciate it very much for youre help, i really do.
About the trustrod. I put my guitar in the repair shop tuesday to have the wiring checked on it. when i picked it up today he told me it was just a bad pickup and he replaced it and adjusted the neck alittle after putting new strings on. He brought the guitar over to me and showed me how the strings were close at the top and high at the bottom and said he even has the trustrod loosend.....SO MAN YOURE GUESS IS AS GOOD AS MINE.....
I will tell you this,it wasn't like that when i took it in.....And he's really not a good guitar tech, he's more into horns and stuff...

But he tell me that i may have a bad neck.

PLEASE TELL ME MAN, WHATS YOURE OPPINION ON THIS ?

TAKE CARE
JEFF

Hello Tennman316,

What you need is a good tech.
Your neck, is, in all probability, fine.
just needs to be put right.
I have had to tune up so-called warped necks.

A good mechanic will tell you if the truss rod
is broken before he starts. Find someone with
the knowledge and go from there, watch if you
can then youl'll know how or at least comprehend
the mechanics of it. Keep us posted on the outcome

Cheers.

he probably doesn't know much about guitar setups... and what pickup did he replace the original with ?? did he tell you? anyway I would take it to a qualified guitar tech for a setup.... I hope he didn't do anything bad to your axe man I've heard weird stories about unqualified "guitar techs" messing up guitars I hope it's not your case :)

Hey man thanks for youre concern and reply, very nice of you. I just had him replace the middle pickup. And their texas specials. And since you brought it up, yeah man i do believe his part time tech guy put it over his knee, because i put him in his place when he started insulting my intelligence by talking to me as if i know nothing at all about guitars..Because my guitar wasn't like that before....

TAKE CARE MY FRIEND

Jeff. the action on that guitar looks fine to me. That said i like my bass strings a little higher than the treble strings. However and this is a big however there still seems to be a good bit of bow in that neck. Now it could just be my blurry insomniac eyes so lets throw it open to other users too. Can anyone else see a good ammount of bow in the neck's side on photo?

If the neck is straight and the upper fret action is still bad then the neck will need shimming or the microtilt system (if the guitar has one) adjusting.

Nick

I think the perceived bow in the side view is more to do with camera lens distortion than any problem with the neck...it looks as if the strings are bowed as well! When I look at the down-the-neck picture with the strings converging. it looks fine. Maybe there's some optical illusion involved...it's difficult to judge these things from looking at a screen. Hopefully Jeff's action is fine, just different to the way it was before...does it feel OK..?
