Bought 1989 off a colleague, it's serial number dates it at 81/82, it's a made in USA black strat, hard-tail, maple fretboard. Haven't got a pic, but it looks like 'Blackie.' How can I id its model, category, supspecies whatever so I know how to refer to it other than 'darling'?!

Go to the top of the page and click on " Support ". I believe they have a link to research your s/n. I`ve seen others post it but I`m not sure of the link offhand.

Thanks, guys. It is, it seems, in every detail the 82/83 'Dan Smith' Standard strat, but without trem. Thanks again for your guidance!

How do I upload pictures onto this?

Oh, well, I found this: not mine obviously but this is the same.

It's been my main guitar for ages and is in vgc, 100% reliable (it is a Fender after all) and seems to be worth a bit more than I thought. Not that I'd sell it ever.
