What happened to the pro model strat and tele? I had a chance to play the strat pro and it was amazing. I was planning on buying one of each down the road and now they're gone. Have they been pulled for good?

Yes, it was a CS item and it looks to have been replaced with the relic pro. This is going to mean a pretty hefty jump in price though. That's not going to be pretty as the Pro was already $2700 Cdn.

I picked up a Winter 2009 Fender Custom Shop catalog at Guitar Center last week and the Strat and Tele Pros are listed in the Relic/Limited Collection section with a MSRP of $4,400. The run is limited to 20 of each color so that means only 80 Strat and 40 Tele Pros will be manufactured this year. Now I know why I have never seen one in the wild.

I played the non-relic version of the Pro and it's an amazing instrument. The relic version running at at least a $1000 more off the shelf isn't doing it for me, even though I do like the relics.
