I normally use 9 gauge strings (Super Slinkies) on my Strat Plus, but have got hold of some 9.5 gauge - D'Addario. Seeme like a perfect compromise between 9s & 10s... anyone else used them on a Strat??

I haven't used the 9.5 strings, but I had a setup done by a good guitar tech. He suggested the 9.5 hybrid strings, because I play rhythm guitar and it has a deeper sound, yet an easy action. I decided to go 10 gauge, just because it's more available at guitar shops, when I need to buy new strings. The strings he suggested were D'Addario. He highly recommended them.

Half gauges are tricky to find, unless you order them online.

Iv'e been using Diadarrio 9.5's for years on my Fender guitars and10's on my short scale Gibson and Hamer .Seems to make the two scale lenths feel the same.

I love those on Strats!! A great string for the real light, twangy hendrix kind of vibe.
