Thanks for the bump Russian! I'm all too familiar with this thread, but no harm at all in taking tips from a pro in action!

Thankyou for the bump. I have not been around here that long. But even without seeing this, Ceri is undeniably very competent in this area. Great looking guitar Ceri!

Ceri I know you are being modest but please dont ever use the phrase bumbling amateur again more like member of the custom shop. I hope Mike E and the rest of the guys at Fender took time out to watch this beautiful work of craftsmanship and offer you a job. WOW that was the most impressive thing I have seen. Just a tremendous job and amazing display of talent shown to your forum mates. I love it and I love the contour and color. The only thing I wish I could appreciate is the sound, but I know it must be killer. GREAT, GREAT JOB.

Oh, OK. Shall we have some pics?

Here's the finished body, buffed and ready for action:

So. Let's bolt it together:

Now we're ready for some guitar porn:

And finally. I thought we needed a location with a vague nod in the direction of the period the Blue Strat emulates. Here's the new guitar and its relieved builder at Ed's Easy Diner:

FINISHED!!!

Hi Ceri

I have a couple questions for you if you don't mind. You seem like the right person to ask.

I'm thinking about trying to make a body from scratch. The one main tool I do not have right now is a band saw. (which I have always wanted and this is the perfect reason to finally pick one up) Do you have any idea on the table size that would be required to be able to accommodate cutting a Strat type body? Meaning what size of band saw will I need for a project like this. I'm assuming that the main problem will be the measurement between the blade to the support arm at the machine. Should I be looking for a minimum measurement of so many inches here?
