[quote="lomitus"]Hey Ceri,
Well, personally I don't really care for the Daphne blue myself...

Yo Ceri :!:

I learned through other grape vines that EC joined the Allman Brothers in NYC on 3/20....another event which I had to scratch due to the eye surgery which took precedence to everything else in my life these past two weeks. (My vision is spectacularly improved at this writing!)

I bring this concert into the thread in that the "Where's Eric" sycophants made much mention of the fact that he used a Daphne Blue Signature Stratocaster for the bulk of the set he played. He may be one more finish ahead of us again. (Hope 'uf' is not too bent out of shape on this...presently pursuing the Grigio Silverstone holy grail at the last post from him.)

So mate, it appears that you are current in the world of finishes with respect to guitar god preferences. You can hang that one on the wall with pride, other preferences not withstanding.

Thanks for that bit of information. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the "tape" of that show. Do you know how long/how many tunes he played?

In another bit of recent live Strat madness, Robin Trower and Jack Bruce have done some shows in Germany. They sound great together.

Sorry for my slow response, but Ceri, if you were to give me that guitar, I wouldn't give it back. I would take it, and run off into the sunset with that amazing axe, laughing the entire time.

The first thing I need to do is thank you, Ceri, for sharing this absolutely amazing project with all of us! I have told everyone I know about it, hopefully they all had a chance to see this thing through from beginning to end.
I am absolutely speechless, to say the least. If I had seen this before last night, I definitely would have toasted and tipped one for you. First one tonight is for you, and you can count on that!
I really do hope you send this entire thread to that loser who sold you this "trash body" so he can see just what a sap he really is.
I also like the idea of a decal for the headstock, but if you can't do that, then I'd suggest a "Ceri-tificate of Authenticity" for the Cericaster #0001!
Congratulations, Ceri. Absolutely fantastic, amazing, stupendous (I could go on, but won't) job! I don't know what else to say. I hope we'll have something else like this to look forward to in the near future. Rest assured, whenever I see a blue Strat, I'm gonna be thinking of you!

>Go into the dude's website, 'Where's Eric'. You'll find a publicist-soaked narrative of the event complete with set list. He came during the second set. YouTube is carrying at least four of the songs.

>My only Robin Trower is "In The Line of Fire" which I recall reading the Guitar Player interview on when it was released. It is a fantastic work and if you don't own it, and like Trower, do yourself a favor.....Now there's one for Chet Feather's "Hard Rock" list :!:

Just checkin' in after a busy weekend. More nice posts - thank you everyone! It's been fun, mostly thanks to all the enthusiastic feedback. Let's do it again sometime (but not for a while...)!

And BTW:

Absolutely not! But from this point on it converts into the thread where Nikininja reveals all about the infamous and disreputable musos he's worked/drunk with over the years. That should comfortably fill another 24 pages...

Cheers guys - C

Beautiful guitar, it certainly looks pretty ..... congrats!!

but if I may... I think the only way to top these beautiful pictures of the guitar is by uploading a video of it being played so we can all rest in peace knowing that it sounds fantastic :D

Ah now most of the bands i've drank with i still drink with on occasion. English Dogs and Dogsflesh next month for my birthday. Tales of people wanting to kill me are greatly varied. Notably the road rat's biker gang from right near you Ceri. One of their members pulled a knife on me in the 100club in croyden. My reply 'get lost fatty, you'll never reach past your belly to stab me', as i ran away. At which point him and his mates decided to give chase. I had to lock myself in the dressing room and climb out the window.

Ahhh halcyon days.
You never owned a big BMW bike and once gave aid to a newbie biker whilst traveling down the A1 did you Ceri?

See, this is the kind of story we want:

I'll take as many pages of that stuff as you feel like posting. Solid gold!! [Weeping with laughter...]

Er, no. But I have my own experience of that road. As a 12 year old I fell off the back of my uncle's Honda 500 when he unexpectedly pulled a wheelie on the A1 - somewhere near Nottingham, I believe. He's the sort of person that we'd definitely not have been wearing crash helmets if they weren't mandatory - and then at best I'd be wearing a neckplate today, rather than making them...

Cheers - C

Great job, Ceri, but the thread doesn't end until it finds a nice home doesn't it...

Haha! Well, I was planning on keeping it into my old age, but just for you I could make an exception.

But you'll have to come and get it!

Cheers Mike - C
