Post subject: American Deluxe Truss Rod Help

Hey guys, I need to adjust the truss rod on my strat and this is my first time doing it. When I looked up at the headstock for the place to use an allen wrench to adjust it, it didn't seem like there was anything in there. Am I supposed to adjust it down on the butt of the guitar?
