Is the guy playing the strat in the middle using some sort of E-Bow or what? Strange. Good one Niki.

As far as i'm aware it was the bands own invention called a 'gizmo'.

Just wanted to find out more about it, thinking of modding the CS.

I read up on 10CC and The Gizmo last year after I acquired a nice video of the group. I don't remember all of the links, but some went into great detail about the thing.

Good Luck Nick!

I remember a friend who had a massive record collection, he knew everything about everyone.
He mentioned 10cc as a very innovative band to the point that their studio chops were comparable to Queen...
It doesn't suprise me that one of them would have one or any number of gizmos...

Lol and Kevin's decision to quit came after they had been working with the Gizmo at the group's Strawberry North Studios in Stockport. They found that their involvement with the Gizmo — an attatchment [sic] for the guitar which allows a note to be sustained indefinitely — was taking up more and more of their time and rather than try to combine their work with that of 10cc they felt it best to concentrate entirely on developing the possibilities of the Gizmo and leave 10cc free to continue as a recording and performing outfit.

I didnt think any of my American friends would of known of the band.
Quite a suprise.

Basicaly from what i read it was set of 6 rotating wheels. each positioned above a string, on a motor with keys to make them hit their strings. Like a ebow, but more precise i think.

Apparently they come up on ebay every blue moon.

I had thought it was like a cam shaft with lobes that kept on changing the string presure as it turned against the strings? :?

I wonder if that is what they used in the song I'm Not In Love? I just put the Album on it could be.
