I just received my KWS strat today - it is a sunburst. I will give details and if you have any questions just let me know.
3 piece body (8 pounds 2 ounces)
American Vintage Tremolo w/ Steel Block (decked with 5 springs from the factory)
Graph Tech Ferraglides (stainless finish)
All Cloth wiring
Under the hood looks just like my Jimmie Vaughan strat with same tone control configuration - bridge pickup has tone control, middle pickup is wide open.
Pickups sound like they have a pronounced Mid Scoop, but that's my ears and is subjective.
I have not played with their height yet.
Neck finish same as a Jimmie Vaughan - no tint but smooth. Fret work is excellent - nut seems ok. Tuners are vintage style and look to be Ping but hard to tell. They work smooth and hold.
Neck Size: I know this is a big question with most - later on in the week I will measure it when I get the chance, but first impressions are it's a real full C - I have 2 Cray standards (2006, 2007) and it doesn't seem as thick as those, but it is thicker than my '01 60's Classic. I could be wrong on this and I will measure and let you know later in the week. It is a good feeling neck.
And it has the Fender/Schaller strap buttons, so if you use the Schaller Straplock system you're already there.
Hope This Helps Some

lovely sunburst colour. Very nice red into brown.

When you measure the neck could you use a cloth tailors tape. Put it so that the 1" is on the edge of the fretboard, take it round the neck and back across the fingerboard to where the 1" measurement is.
Do this against the 1st fret and the 12th. Subtract the 1 off your overall measurements too please.
We've a few guitars measured that way on here, it will make a nice comparison for a nice axe. :D

Hello Wrfabus,

I'm hoping to test drive one of these,
local store aren't displaying them yet.
That big neck has got me interested.
According to specs the middle pickup
is controled with the tone 1 knob along
with the neck.
I like that sunburst too.

Cheers.

Yes, you are correct - the tone knob for the neck does control the middle and neck pickups.

As for neck size, following your instructions from the UK (I was not sure I understood the dropping of the 1), the raw measurement with a cloth tape I got was:
1st Fret - 4 3/8"
12th Fret - 5 1/8"
I normally use calipers for this measurement. Could you explain what you mean by dropping the 1? Please excuse my ignorance.

Thanks,
Bill

I believe he was saying rather than the beginning of the tape start at the one inch mark...and then remember to take that extra inch off at the end....as in 1"-5" would really be 4"..where as if you started at the beginning of the tape it would be 5

Thanks - it was a nice Monday.

This also has the '62 Aluminum Shield and the pickups are fibre bobbins (see Pic).

The neck as I measure it with calipers:
Width at 1st Fret = 1.650
Width at 12th Fret = 1.980

Depth at 1st Fret = .860
Depth at 12th Fret = 1.012
