I wrote a topic earlier about what is a good low costing strat. Most people said MIM strat, specifically Deluxe Players or Highway One. So which one do you like the most? Also I know the Highways have hot pickups, but do you think I could trade in my Epiphone Les Paul Standard for it and still be able to do harder rock? Thanks in advance. :)

either would be a good guitar... the highway ones are american made, but the deluxe players are extremely nice guitars for the money... i have one and i love it, i can get harder rock sounds out of it to great cleans.... i havent tried many highway ones, but im sure they're very nice as well

Anytime you buy a Fender or for that matter any guitar. Play loads of them and find the one suited for you as well as get the better quality guitars. Monday strats, might not be as good as wednesday, Strats. Also different lead men and inspection teams may produce better or worse instruments. If i was a heavy rocker, I would get a guitar with EMG's or some other active pickups. You could get a tele with humbuckers if your all about fenders and you would be better off. The fender bolt on neck has better sustain and resonance if tightly fitted. Check neck fit with a thin pick or a dollar bill.
