I own a Lone Star. I couldn't resist buying one when the MIM model was introduced in October 2007. It's a good guitar (MIM Deluxe quality) with outstanding pickups. The two Texas Specials sold me fast, and it took a while but I gradually got used to the bridge humbucker. The classic second position bridge/middle pickup quack sounds different with the Duncan but the Pearly Gates Plus handles gain well and really cuts through for solos.

It was a tough choice between the Lone Star and the SSS Roadhouse but I figured it was time to buy my first HSS Strat. The other difference is that the Lone Star has a rosewood fretboard while the Roadhouse has maple.

The Lone Star is an excellent deal. I did a double take when I saw a Strat with those pickups for $549.99. I'd buy it again.

I bought the Arctic White Lone Star.
