Hello all - just got my 1st decent guitar today - a Standard Strat SSS in midnight wine with maple neck. My other guitar is a cheapo unit called a Samick that looks like a strat. It would not stay in tune and was not as playable. Tested several today and picked the wine coloured one as it felt the best. It is brand new but an older model as the part# is 013 - 4602 - 375. Feels nice.

I am a biginner who played a bit in my teen years, but really wanted to get back into learning.

Well enough for now - should go and practice some more. I look forward to learning some things here. Thanks.

Same story here....played a little as a teen, dropped it to learn the drums and now here I am again. I'm actually going through with it this time, I'm addicted :lol:

Welcome to the Forum. I like the Midnight Wine color myself. Toyed around with the idea of buying one, but kinda have my mind set on another model. I really like the Dave Murray Sig. but I would be saving a few years for that one. I have been looking around, but I am still saving money for a new guitar. :? Looking forward to seeing you around. Thanks for the welcome all.

rkreisher - I take it from your posts you are a RUSH fan. If nothing else, I want to be able to play LIMELIGHT. I can play the opening riff and the riff between verses so far - a little rough but you can recognise it. I grew near Toronto where they started. Finally got to see them May 27 2008 here in Edmonton after all these years. That concert was part of the reason why I picked up the axe again. Right now I'm just learning some basic scales and chord progressions and doing lots of finger exercises to develope my accuracy and dexterity.

Have lots of LIMELIGHT tabs but they are all a bit different - especially the solo. Some day I will find the right one.
