Does anyone have a link to pictures of the 09 models in these colors? I can't seem to find any.

I like both colours. Buy both.
Problem solved. :D

I notice in these links the standard has gone down to 21 frets again?
Whats happened there?

MIM standards have always been 21 frets to my knowledge.

find a blue, and play both, but if it was just based on the colour, I'd go with the blue :3 red's too common.

I'm a fan of red especially CAR, but it is true what others are saying. Lake Placid Blue doesn't appear that often and Fender will always have some sort of red available on their most popular Strat models.

I got to see the Lake Placid Blue (a different model), and it looks pretty sweet. But, I think I love the Candy Apple Red.

The appeal of the LPB, as mentioned here, is that it doesn't become available too often.

Its a dream player almost plays itself and has great tone and a lot of body resonance but is very delicate. The finish is very thin, polish it with too hard a rag and it scratches. The CS guitar next to it doesnt play as well or sound as good, but feels like you could fight your way out of a UFC cage match and it wouldnt even lose tuning.

Go for whichever one you like the best, which of course should be the red.

Definately Lake Placid Blue, Fender tends to release a red version every year that's about the same color, the Lake Placid Blue hasn't come out in a while. Take advantage while you can. I recently bought a Midnight Wine Strat and wished i would've waited and got the Lake Placid Blue.

+1. Lake Placid w/ Rosewood necks are HOT
