I'm planning on ordering a 2009 Standard Strat. I LOVE the Candy Apple Red, but the pictures of the Lake Placid Blue look good. I've checked a few shops, but I haven't seen LPB in person.

So, which one? Candy Apple Red or Lake Placid Blue.

The Red looks really good, and I'm a guy that usually likes Blues more than Reds :P

Play them both. If you still cannot decide, flip a coin. I like the Candy Apple Red myself. Let us know what you decide.

I saw one of the Lake Placid blue Strats today at the local Guitarcenter -- wow... Candy Apple Red used to be my favorite... until today.. For me, its a toss-up so I'm saving for one of each...

I would go for the lake placid blue because for some reason when I see it specially with the rosewood fretboard it looks like a piece of art more than a guitar lol I also like it with the maple fretboard but rosewood looks killer to me....... by the way oldguy 101 welcome to the forum

Definately Lake Placid Blue, Fender tends to release a red version every year that's about the same color, the Lake Placid Blue hasn't come out in a while. Take advantage while you can. I recently bought a Midnight Wine Strat and wished i would've waited and got the Lake Placid Blue.
