Post subject: USA Strat Fender serial number 280308587255?

I'm talking to a guy who says he has a USA Fender Strat,but the only number he comes up with is 12 digits. 280308587255 Can anyone help on this? I haven't seen it but he says it's black with white pickguard. This seems to be an odd serial num to me? Then again,I just play them,I don't build them,only for myself. It's too many digits to be a Fender model number.

What did the guy say it is?

I also lacks the letter that designates the decade.... i.e. N280.... or Z280....

So I guess it's not a Fender SN.

Sorry, no help here. Too many numbers.

http://www.guitardaterproject.org/ cannot find it. Definately not MIM, MIA, or CIJ/MIJ according to them.

There are Chinese and Korean Fenders out there and coul dpossibly be one of them.

That is a possibility that it is a part number.


Jeffsgitarz,

Tell the guy that on the headstock there is a SN. It would either be on the front or back. These are the numbers you want to see to check it through the Guitar Dater Project site.

jeff these numbers do not come up in the fender
data base. my advise would be leave this one alone
