There were a number of posters from that show.
Most of them were in focus and show the Tele Neck.

I've got a poster from that Show. I'd have to dig it out to see if it shows what "they" did to the Tele neck to fit it to that Strat body (like round the end of it).

You really don't have to do anything to make it fit. Just stick it on and tune it up.

I thought the squarish-Tele neck heel wouldn't fit into the roundish-Strat neck route.

I know I'm stating the obvious here but that show was Woodstock - the tele strat is in the movie too.

Heres what Warmoth Says about there necks which is what I always thought was true with Fenders.


All Warmoth 6 string guitar bodies except for the Tele® family, feature Strat® compatible neck pockets. All Warmoth 6 string guitar necks (except Tele®) feature Strat® compatible heels.
Strat® necks will fit into a Tele® pocket and intonate correctly. Gaps will however be apparent at the corners as shown in the photo on the right.

Tele® necks fit only Tele® neck pockets, they will not fit Strat® pockets correctly nor will they intonate without modifying the pocket fit
